Excited to start thinking seriously about a project I've wanted to do for sooooo long! For some time now I've had a vision of a series of paintings of the Narnia books, incorporating the idea of the medieval solar system. Though I've done some preliminary sketches and some smaller pieces , I really want to create a series of 7 paintings to depict the characters, events, planetary meanings, and the overall feeling of each of the Narnia novels. I'll share my progress in the projects section of my page.

Plein Air Pals

Practice practice practice

I've recently joined a Plein Air group to get painting out of doors and up my skill set. It's a whole different ball game, with so man factors to contend with that just don't come into play in the studio. Great fun though, and an excuse to escape for the day to some beautiful locations. This is a shot of my pochade set up out on the now repaired Culross Pier in December 2021. A bright beautiful day but a rather chilly 3 degrees C!!!
