Finally started this new commission after many months of procrastinating and basically being afraid to start,lol. Just blocking in the colours and shapes at the moment, with a long way to go. A beautiful view of Edinburgh castle from the lesser viewed back, taken from a photo on a sunny summer's day by the customer. Acrylic on board. Will keep you updated with my progress

Plein Air Pals

Practice practice practice

I've recently joined a Plein Air group to get painting out of doors and up my skill set. It's a whole different ball game, with so man factors to contend with that just don't come into play in the studio. Great fun though, and an excuse to escape for the day to some beautiful locations. This is a shot of my pochade set up out on the now repaired Culross Pier in December 2021. A bright beautiful day but a rather chilly 3 degrees C!!!
